Cleaning your foam RV cushions

Cleaning your RV cushions is the best way to ensure they look their best all year round. If you have recently purchased a used RV or you are looking to sell your current RV, cleaning your cushions is a great way to make your RV smell and look fresher.

Start off by taking your cushion covers off the foam and washing them as per the directions on the cushion label. Dry out your cushions by placing them flat on a sheet in your garden or driveway. Adding some fresh smelling softner is a great way to get rid of any stale smells.

Then sprinkle baking soda generously one side of the cushion and leave them for a few hours in the sun. Then flip your cushions and do the same on the other side. Once your cushions have been in the sun for a few hours, dust off the baking soda with a brush or beat them together to remove all the powder. You can hold a vacuum on your cushions to get the last bits of powder off the foam.

Then fill a spray bottle with half vinegar and half water and mist your cushions on both sides. Then place your cushions out to dry and occasionally flip them over to get all the moisture out. Remember that your RV cushions will smell of vinegar for the first day and then eventually neutralize.

The Foam Factory suggests doing this at least once every year to keep your RV cushions smelling and looking fresh.
