The world’s largest cruise line, the Carnival Cruise Lines is set to introduce its gigantic new ship, Carnival Vista in the spring of 2016 according to a recent event they conducted in New York City. With an estimated total guest capacity of 4,980 passengers, the new cruise line is expected to come with immense food options, entertainment venues and family friendly activities including the largest sports square known as Skyride and an IMAX movie theater, a first of its kind in a cruise ship. The ship is being built by Fincantieri, Italy at an estimated cost of $800 million. The cruise liner will host 8 to 13 day trips. Ship weighs more than 133,500 tons, 1,055 feet in length and powered by diesel and electric. Carnival Vista will be the largest cruise ship when it joins the cruise industry.

Its maiden voyage will be a 13 day trip from Trieste, Italy to Barcelona, Spain scheduled for May 1, 2016. Trips ranging from eight to 13 days will take visitors to Trieste, Italy; Barcelona, Spain; and Athens, Greece from May to October 2016. Later it will start a 13 day trip known as Transatlantic Reposition from Trieste, Italy to New York stopping at Gibraltar, Azores, King’s Wharf, and Bermuda.
